Les Misérables is based on the French historical novel of the same name by Victor Hugo. The music was written by Claude-Michel Schönberg, with original French lyrics by Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel and English-language libretto by Herbert Kretzmer. “One Day More & Epilogue” are both the Act finales, and some of the most iconic songs of the genre.
